Displaced East Coaster

I am a Northeasterner who relocated to Chicago in 2009. In the fall, I took a short "self-discovery" trip, which was the inspiration for the blog. Next, I worked as a law clerk. Finally, in August 2010, I started a job with the state doing civil rights work. I plan to continue to blog, especially about my love of the northeast, my new love of Chicago and the things I see on my daily travels. Winter storm alert!

We are finally getting some snow! According to the weather channel,
we are expecting 8-12 inches, sometimes falling at a rate of an inch
per hour. Nice. Add a new project to my list: shovel the sidewalk and
driveway. I think I'll wait for some real accumulation, just in case
this is another false alarm.
